ABOUT
Musica Giuseppe Verdi
Alessandro Baricco will guide the audience through a fresh and surprising reinterpretation of Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata with Una Traviata da cortile, a performance combining storytelling and live music that takes the opera out of the theatre to transform it into a collective, immersive and accessible experience. Designed for open spaces and courtyards, the production deliberately breaks with traditional operatic conventions: there is no longer any separation between stage and audience, and the audience becomes an integral part of the story. Spectators move within the action, toasting and singing along with the performers, experiencing Violetta’s story as if at a village festival, amidst music, storytelling and collective participation.
At the heart of the show remain the crucial moments in the story of Violetta Valéry: four scenes spanning the protagonist’s love, conflict, humiliation and, finally, death. Between these musical scenes, Baricco intervenes with his narration, restoring the human and contemporary power of the story.
